I don’t know about you, but when I don’t sleep well, I am SO HUNGRY the next day! We’re talking bottomless pit. Anyone else? For today’s WIAW I’m taking you on a tour of snacktown.
On Monday night I was tossing and turning and had to be at work at 7:15 am the next day. Not great.
Luckily, I had packed myself plenty of eats to last me until 3 o’clock when my shift ended! Phew. (Tired AND hangry Ruthie is not a good time!)
My body was relying on calories for every ounce of energy it missed out on the night before!
Breakfast at 7:40AM
Overnight oats and coffee with almond milk. I could not wait to devour these! PS MY MUG ROCKS!
Next up around 9:30 was my new favorite cocktail. 😉 My boss recommended Life’s Basics Plant Protein Blend with Greens and I’m so glad she did! With 23 g of protein per serving plus greens like spirulina, wheat grass, and broccoli, I think it’s pretty much the healthiest thing on the planet. I mix it with water and I actually enjoy it!
Since I couldn’t make it until lunch without eating something else, I popped one of these Pumpkin Oat Chocolate Chip Bars in the microwave (to get the chips melty, duh) around 10:45. I have Sally’s Baking Addiction to thank for the recipe.
Lunch at 12:15PM
This lunch was just meh. And that’s being generous. Roasted sweet potato, frozen veggies, and eggs. It just wasn’t doing it. At all.
Not to fear! More food was on the way! Around 1:15, I crunched and munched on some Rold Gold Honey Wheats & Way Better Snacks Pumpkin Cranberry Tortilla Chips! I bought these on a whim and they are so tasty! Give ’em a try! 😉 Definitely satisfied my crunch craving and made up for my lackluster lunch!
That was the end of what I packed. With my shift done, I made a quick change and got in a leg workout. I was tired. It was nothing worth writing about. Hey, they can’t all be!
The 3:30-4:30 time slot included some unpictured snacks: 3 hardboiled egg whites, some more chips, a serving of cottage cheese. The snack monster was out today, y’all!
Dinner at 7:30PM
It’s 10 dollar Tuesdays at our local pizza joint, we decided we’d be silly to miss out on such a deal! Any large one topping pizza, ten bucks. Sign me up! I had this slice. Plus one. And a half.
It wasn’t the healthiest day but it sure wasn’t bad. This was just “one of those days” – the real deal, folks. I feel like all I did was munch and everything else was just time a time filler! Another great reminder on the importance of sleep!!!
