Workout Wednesday: Show Off Your Shoulders Workout!

Hello! Happy Wednesday!

How’s the week treating you?

Today we are headed back to New Hampshire to celebrate Rosh Hashanah at my mom’s house with some family. I’m really looking forward to celebrating the holiday and am glad that Dan can come since it falls on his off days.

As I mentioned on Monday, my computer took a bit of a vacation for a week there, which was a bummer for several reasons, one of them being that’s what I use to play my home workout DVD’s! I’m still going strong (literally ;)) with Body Beast so I was in Plan B workout mode. I couldn’t press “play” so I made some of my own workouts up to target each body part.

Shoulders are my favorite, though.

Shoulders are an area not to be neglected. First off, they are the most moveable and unstable joint in the body. Seriously! That means they are susceptible to injury and need to be STRONG in order to function properly. The second, pretty vain reason, is that shoulders get noticed. What I mean by that is, if you have strong, defined shoulders, the eye naturally gravitates there and frankly, it makes the rest look good too. Just sayin.’

Here’s a shoulder workout that targets the entire shoulders, working the deltoids and the rotator cuff areas. Keep it up and show those babies off!

    Yep, I am afraid I am guilty of neglecting my shoulders, and they do sometimes become tired when I swing them about too much when I run, but right now I am just so damn tired from all the running, that I can’t add another thing. I am proud to say I actually use a few of your exercises in my strengthening, but probably not enough!

    I LOVE lifting shoulders. It is one of the few muscle groups that really does get my full attention, even during marathon season. It is one of the sexiest, strongest, and most functionally necessary parts of the body!
