It’s been too long since I’ve been here, which seems to be an unfortunate trend these days!
As excited as I am for our wedding (in a MONTH!), I’ve been feeling like wedding planning has taken over my life, and I need to reclaim it! My to-do lists have been solely focused on wedding related items, and I need a break! So, I’m back on the blog for my own sanity and hopefully it adds a little something to your life as well – especially today, since I will be sharing an awesome upper body workout with you!
I’m sure you’re not surprised that I’m working hard to look as awesome as possible in my wedding dress! I’m happy with my body, but I really want to feel super confident that day – and feel great about the pictures which will be looked at forever and ever! Current fitness goal = train for my half and tighten errthang up for the wedding! That means a combo of running and strength training is in full effect over here!
One area that I’m focusing on is my arms! Since I’m currently training for a half marathon, I’m doing a lotttt of running, but I’ve been making sure to hit my arms a couple days a week, whether it be just performing pushups or lifting weights. I’m telling you, I notice a difference just from doing 30 pushups a day!
I’m also loving pyramid style workouts for strength and definition in a flash. This style of workout is fast paced and challenging – just what it takes to get max results in a timely manner. 😉
To Perform the Workout:
Complete one rep of the first exercise in the superset one time, then the second exercise one time, then the first exercise two times, the second two times…all the way up to twelve of each! Make sure to rest between sets. Finish up with one pyramid of pushups!
There are different types of pyramids, but this style is my go to when I put workouts together. If you have a question about this style of workouts or want to see examples of different types of pyramids – be sure to let me know in the comments!
PS… This pyramid workout is hardcore without being complicated or using lots of equipment!
I’ve also been performing this upper body workout as well as this one and love them.
Today’s workout will be a 3 mile run, followed by some serious stretching and ab work. I’ll be doing this workout on Saturday, which is a weight training day for me. Can’t wait to fire up those arms again…
