Ready for a little fun? Let’s Play “The Last Time I…” Game!

Let’s play a little game, shall we?? I saw this in a magazine (forget which one) a while back and thought it would make a great blog post! Let’s kick off Tuesday with the inaugural edition of…

It’s oh so simple! Here’s how it goes.

The Last Time I…

Borrowed something

When in New Hampshire for Rosh Hashanah at my mom’s. For the ride back to Vermont, I borrowed my mama’s super comfy Nike pants. I couldn’t face the post – feast ride in jeans. The horror!

Heard “I Love You”

Dan gave me a smooch and and said, “I love you” before I left for work today. Dre did too – with his eyes – I’m pretty sure. ?

Tried a new food

Y’all aren’t going to believe this one – right when I moved here, I went to a cookout and guess what was on the menu? MOOSE. The game warden brought it over. He hunted it and eats the meat throughout the fall and winter. As you might know, I typically do not eat meat, but I’d much rather eat it when it is hunted by a skilled hunter who uses it to feed his family than buy it from a store that got it from a slaughterhouse where animals are treated inhumanely and pumped with chemicals. Rant over. So, I tried it. It was good – that one time.

Was angry
Besides my road rage, I’m slow to anger. Although, in the grocery store the other day a teenage girl made a really rude comment under her breath about someone as they walked into the store. It really pissed me off, like who are YOU to judge someone like that? I didn’t say anything, which also pissed me off!

DIY’ed something

I made a painting for the cutest baby ever, Nate. It says “You are my sunshine” and it’s hanging in his room. I really miss that little lovie! I need to make something else soon…this was monthsss ago!

Asked for advice

Right now I am deciding between two fitness related “endeavors.” I’m not sure which one to focus my time, energy, and money on. I asked Dan for his opinion and we talked through it. I think I know which route I’m going…but I’m not 100% decided. I’m strong willed but so indecisive. Sometimes it takes those who know me best to say, “Okay. You know what you truly want. Now go with it.” I just hate ruling out options!

Cried at a movie

Dan and I went to see The Giver a few weeks back. Now, this book and I have a special relationship. It was one of my favorite books in middle school and I decided to teach it to my 7th graders who loved it. We had such a great time discussing it and doing really cool activities with it. The book means a lot to me. I cried as soon as the movie ended because it was so awful and different and I couldn’t bear the thought of people seeing it not having read the book and thinking that was what the book was like. Read the book, y’all!

Felt proud

I ran my fastest mile ever last week! Go me! I was especially proud because I’ve been dedicated to getting out of a bit of a running funk. This was a good boost!

Had an “aha!” moment: I was stressing a little about gaining a few pounds since the move. I soon realized that I need to CHILL OUT and GET OVER IT! It’s all good! Aha!

See – wasn’t that fun?! ?

*All my blogger buds out there – I’d love to read your editions of “The Last Time I…” Link your post to this one so I can read it! FUN!

Have a great day, friends!

I love these things! I totally understand the part about having to make a decision – I always get paralyzed worrying that whatever I don’t choose would end up being better.

Good questions! I just read The Giver this year but did not see the movie. Now I’m curious about what they did to it!

This is a great idea! Life has been moving at a record pace for me lately, and reading your post, I realized that I actually had to stop and think about some of these answers, because I haven’t had time to reflect. Thanks for the reminder to slow down!
