How are you today?
I’m popping in today for a thinking out loud session to catch up and fill you in on life lately! It’s a pretty exciting, busy, time over here – all for good reasons, with just a wee bit of stress thrown in because everything is happening ALL AT ONCE. Does your life ever get like that? Things are slow and steady and then BAM! All the things. These few weeks have a lot in store, here’s to hoping I can keep up!
Here we go with the updates:
I said yes to the dress!
After three appointments spanning three days, I finally said yes to the dress! It was actually, “WOW,” but that works, too. ? I went with my mom and my sis (I don’t know how people do it with more than two others in tow!) and it was really fun. No craziness here – if you watch Say Yes to the Dress I’m sure you know what I’m talking about. I don’t normally overly enjoy shopping, and I’m not a decisive person at all, but I had an idea about what I wanted going into it. I tried a few things outside of that, but ultimately I ended up with the dress I’m supposed to wear! Also, shopping makes me so tired and so, so hungry. I had a snack in the car before our last appointment and my mom was like, “Honey, do you also want me to bring a snack into the appointment for you?” Part of me wanted her to but I drew the line at simultaneously eating and trying on dresses.
We’re moving (again)
As I mentioned in yesterday’s post (<—three awesome kettlebell workouts if you missed it!) we are moving this weekend to the town where Dan now works. He switched police departments a few months back and his new job is an hour and a half away from where we are now. Yup, that guy has been commuting three hours total on either end of a MIDNIGHT SHIFT. I’ll tell ya, he really is a Soldier. Even though I will miss our house, our view, and friends here, I am pumped about being in an area where there’s a trace of civilization. Mainly, in the form of a coffee shop with wifi, a rec center, and a TJ Maxx. ?
My 29th birthday is on Tuesday
OMG. The last year of my 20’s. I’m not a birthday person AT ALL, but this one feels different. I’m encroaching on the end of an era and I have every intention of making my 29th year rock my own socks off! Since we will be in between moving (see above) and traveling (see below) I plan on a birthday breakfast and later a birthday margarita. Done and done!
We’re going to Savannah a week from today!
This trip is everything. After living there for two years, Savannah is home and I can’t wait to go back. I can’t believe I’ve been in Vermont for 8 months already. That’s craaaazy. On the trip itin: hang out with my dad (who moved there right as I was leaving, go figure!) and my BFF Ali and her awesome little family – I’ll be there for her 30th bday! – spend time hitting up my favorite spots and restaurants, meet up with some of Dan’s friends who are in the area, and get together with my former students WHO I MISS SO MUCH. Also, I plan to soak up every ounce of southern sunshine and hospitality imaginable. I’ll be sure to do a trip recap and share the Savannah love. Get me there!
And just because…
House of Cards is tomorrow!
Do you watch? Love me some HOC! Even though I won’t have much time to watch it until I get back from vaca, I’m already looking forward to the next season. It’s just too good. Bring on the binge watching!
Okay then, think I’ve about covered it! Lots of great things happening and I’m determined not to let packing and moving and travel logistics get in the way of my good time…
My gameplan = smile, and don’t let stress ruin the fun!
Cheers to a great day!
