It’s Workout Wednesday and we are cutting right to the chase!
A common mistake I see women making when it comes to working out is doing too much steady state cardio.
This has its place, but it’s not the be all and end all! If that’s you, I encourage you to break out of the cardio rut and upgrade your workouts by doing high intensity total body exercises!
If you’re looking for some awesome moves that deliver all over results, this post is for you too.
Performing total body exercises like the ones I’m sharing here is a must do for several reasons:
- They’re efficient – you work your entire body in one exercise, rather than spending time on individual exercises for each muscle group
- Fat burning AND muscle building – the best of both worlds, right! These types of moves combine cardio components and also work your muscles, which equals max results!
- Boredom busters – these exercises are actually fun because they are dynamic!
I’m telling ya, doing these exercises on the regular is a total game changer.
Once you’ve got the move down, progress to using two dumbells, one in each hand, loaded at the shoulders.
Same as with the surrenders, progress to holding a dumbell or medicine ball!
Single Leg Deadlift with Row
This is a challenging exercise for me and I have to really focus on my balance and getting that back leg up! Trying to add it into the rotation more frequently.
Such a great go to move. Work on moving up to a heavier kettlebell!
Medicine Ball Slams
Holy core…Also great for getting some frustration out!
You can pick an exercise to add to your usual cardio or weights routine, our you can make a killer workout by performing each move for 10-15 reps 3-5 times through. (Had the hubs doing a similar workout the other day and it was a sweatfest!)
Try incorporating exercises like these – they really do deliver results – and can take your workout to a whole different level!
