Hello to you and Happy Humpday!
A funny thing is happening over in Ruthieworld. School was cancelled today due to SOUTHERN FREEZE 2016! The New Englander in me is getting a kick out of this whole ordeal, as in Savannah it has just been, well, rainy – but I am certainly not complaining about an unexpected day (and a half) off! Yes, we got out early yesterday as well. School cancellations never go out of style – whether you’re a student or a teacher, they are always filled with excitement! So ,I’m going to enjoy today very much.
Today I have a super sweaty workout to share with you. I did this workout yesterday after my four mile run. I’ve been loving training for my half marathon – which is on Saturday!! – but missing some of the other workouts I used to incorporate into my routine. So, since I felt inspired, I completed this circuit to polish off my workout. It was tough and a total change up – which felt really, really good.
Why title the workout “You Get What You Work For?” Well, I think it’s so critical to not just set goals and to have dreams, but to be prepared to do the legwork (in this case quite literally!) necessary to make them happen.
With this workout, you’re going to work hard and earn the sweat! You might wish it was over – but keep working! It’s worth it, and it’s what it takes to achieve those results you’ve been wishing for.
In exercise, as in life, it’s so important to recognize that:
YOU GET WHAT YOU WORK FOR, NOT WHAT YOU WISH FOR.
We all wish for things to happen, to come true, to turn out a certain way. But really, what does that get us? Maybe cursing our lot, missing out on the beauty of what we do have, or passing up on an opportunity to actually set those things in motion. Either way, when we simply wish for something, we take the focus and responsibility off of ourselves to make it happen the way we imagine it. If we are ready and willing to work for it, there’s no limiting what we can do, have, or be.
